Guideline – L-Q 2010

The foundation of the QUALITY OFFICE certification is the Guideline for Quality Criteria for Office Workplaces. It defines the requirements, which modern office workplaces have to fulfill. This guideline is published by six independent institutions that aim at improving the quality of office work and which want to send out a signal together with QUALITY OFFICE.

The first guideline was made public under the name "L-Q 01-06" in 2006. The new edition "L-Q 2010" was published in October 2010.

Similarly to its predecessor it deals with aspects of product safety, ergonomics, functionality and sustainability of office furniture. Measures for all kinds of office chairs and desks were added in the new principles. Additionally, criteria for more exercise during computer work were amended and improved in order to secure a flexible usage of the products.

Quality requirements for office consultants and retailers will follow.

Editors of the guideline are five independent institutions that have devoted themselves to increase the quality of office work and to send out a signal together with QUALITY OFFICE.

The bso combines 70 office furniture manufacturers from the German-speaking regions. The association represents the shared interests of its member companies on a national and international level. Its mouthpiece is the office furniture forum, which contributes to a better quality of office work through an extensive information and public relations management.

The BAuA supports the Federal Ministry of Labour in all questions of safety at work, including the medical occupational safety. It monitors and analyzes the safety at work, the health protection and the effects of working conditions on human health within the working environment and develops problem solutions.

The German Office Network follows the editors of the initiative circle „New Quality of Office Work“. Aim of the network is the promotion of the quality of office work – in particular in terms of the employees‘ health. It is open for everyone – companies, associations, governmental institutions, corporate bodies, societies and individuals – who is interested in managing office work.

Responsible for the checks and tests is the Quality Forum Office Furniture. It combines representatives from the circle of editors and external industry specialists.
